With a passion for promoting athlete well-being, I work as a dedicated researcher, practitioner, and consultant, specializing in several crucial areas:
1. Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDs): I am at the forefront of addressing the often-overlooked issue of REDs, a condition affecting athletes' performance and health due to insufficient energy intake. My extensive research and practical experience make her a trusted authority in this field. 2. Eating Disorders and Health in Athletic Populations: My commitment to athlete health extends to my work in understanding and managing eating disorders and related health concerns among athletes. My insights are invaluable for anyone involved in sports, from athletes to coaches and beyond. 3. Behavior Change Education Strategies: I possess expertise in designing, developing, and implementing education strategies that drive meaningful behavior change. Education & Training
I completed my Undergraduate Degree at the University of Kent where I studies Sport and Exercise
for Health, obtaining a 1st class honours degree. I went on to pursue my Masters Degree at
University College London where I studied Clinical Nutrition and Eating Disorders and obtained a
distinction. This degree encompassed the biochemistry of nutrition, clinical nutrition for illness and
disease, eating disorder science and treatment, nutrition for health-related diseases as well as the
psychology and behavioural issues surrounding nutrition. My MSc thesis focused on treatment
strategies to reverse bone loss in athletes with functional hypothalamic amenorrhea as a
consequence of RED-S. Since then my passion for this area of research has continued to grow.
with a PhD at Griffith University on the Gold Coast in the field of REDs and
eating disorder prevention in athletes. During this time I have worked closely
with National Sporting Organizations to design and develop coach and athlete
education interventions.
